 MobiLuck is a mobile application for people who need to share their location all the time. People such as friends, family, colleagues, and business partners can use it for business networking, dating, or just keeping in touch. MobiLuck is based in Paris, France and after only 8 months it has a 150K user base, while the rate of growth is 1K per day. Just recently MobiLuck was selected as finalist for the Red herring Europe 100. Application is operator-independent World wide, and a only free and universal Friend Finder service.
Here is a list of just a few functionalities prepared by the MobiLuck team: - Informing of time of arrival - Informing office - Reassuring parents - Facilitating physical meetings - Catching up with local friends - Showing off - Keeping in touch (reminding others I'm here) - Life memory (I was there) - Plan encounters (I will be there) Having MobiLuck as a "Friend Finder", a user can share his or her location with selected friends. Further more, a user can find nearby friends, people and places, while at the same time he or she can get a free SMS alerts when friends are in a near location. To make it even more interesting and valuable, MobiLuck can be used for advertisers as well, by a so called "location-based mobile advertising". On one side MobiLuck knows where people are, while on the other side they have nearby businesses. These people can be targeted generically or by profile, action, location, or behavior. The projected growth of the mobile advertising market is $12.6bn until 2011. The base principles of economics apply - greater demand drives up prices, better targeting drives up ROI, while the size of user base and market maturity increases value to advertisers. MobiLuck is backed up with a strong executive board with Laurent Samama (a former Nokia executive), Stanislas Chesnais (CEO of Netsize), and Barend Van Den Brande (Big Bang Ventures).
